Welcome to Building & Renewal
Unlocking Assets for Mission
Faced with a building they could no longer use, the Fellowship in Chipping Norton abandoned it to meet in an old people’s home. This was a great shame and the grade II listed building fell into some disrepair.
Working with the new minister and her team, we were able to look at the building from a different point of view and look at how it might be released back to them to continue the mission in the town. A suite of 8 apartments were built in and around the church and these were sold to help the church cover the cost of recovering their building.
The church is now working in their newly created space and is able to benefit from a modern, flexible space without having the worry of looking after an ageing building.
We are available to Fellowships who are exploring their capacity for making changes to the infrastructure within which they work. We are aware that many (most?) church buildings were built for a different generation in different times and are often no longer fit for purpose in the 21st century.
